2016-06-27 STATEMENT ON THE COLLECTION OF ELECTORALSCAM SIGNATURES ON SOCIAL MEDIA
In these June 26, 2016 elections, we must be alert to the most common electoral scams, report them publicly, take photos and videos, and share them with the hashtag #estafaelectoral.
We will be monitoring all these issues, offering help and advice, and adding them to the website so there is a record for the future and we can act against them.
These elections play with the country's future; they are probably the most important since the 1930s. Do not doubt that #electoralscams are already happening and that they will be repeated on 26J, as this is how many understand democracy.
That is why we are already warning you about the usual scams this 26J.
ELECTORAL SCAM 1: The nuns scam. This will definitely happen, and from here we encourage you to watch any group of voters arriving by minibuses or vans guided by party members or religious congregations, and record it. As a curiosity, they usually come when there aren’t many people, for example, at lunchtime, so stay alert.
ELECTORAL SCAM 8: The envelope with a hidden vote at the polling station. This scam will definitely be present; in the 2015 elections, votes for Ciudadanos and PP appeared in polling stations in Levante.
ELECTORAL SCAM 6: The less orange ballot scam or the DIFFERENT ENVELOPES AND BALLOTS scam. We have no record of it happening this 26J, but it could be happening; if you see it, let us know.
ELECTORAL SCAM 2: Vote buying. There are people so shady that they hide near polling stations to buy votes for €50 or similar amounts. Be alert to those offering envelopes with votes to people approaching the tables, both outside and inside the polling stations.
ELECTORAL SCAM 9: Hiding competitors’ votes at the polling stations. Shady, but it happens.
ELECTORAL SCAM 5: The requested MAIL-IN VOTE OF SPANIARDS LIVING ABROAD. Unfortunately, this scam has already been carried out.
ELECTORAL SCAM 4: The mail-in vote of SPANIARDS LIVING IN SPAIN. And this one too; if there have been shady deals, the votes are already in circulation: 1.4 MILLION, double that of December 2015.
