Scam: voting twice
It seems impossible to be able to vote twice at this stage of technology and information, but in reality, it is simple... You just have to vote by mail and then volunteer for a party at a polling station that is not yours. That way, at the end of the session, you can vote at the polling station and that's it. In theory, you cannot vote in person because they cross your name off the list at the polling station that corresponds to you, but somehow there are people who, using mail-in voting, manage to vote both at their own polling station and at the one where they are a representative or poll watcher.
2016-09: A PNV councilor from Barrika voted twice in the regional elections
Alkorta first voted by mail at the polling station corresponding to his address and, on the same day of the elections, voted at the Barrika ballot box, where he served as a poll watcher. According to the law, having been appointed as a poll watcher at another polling station, the Jeltzale councilor should have been removed from the register of his usual voting place. However, as has been verified, he ended up voting at both polling stations.
